Matthew Jones CeMAP

Matthew was the founding partner of Moneywatch in 2006. He has worked for Building Societies his whole working life having previously worked at the Halifax, Cheltenham and Gloucester and more recently for the Skipton Building Society in Solihull as area sales manager.

Matthew decided to go self-employed to make the best use of his extensive knowledge for the benefit of his customers in the now very confusing marketplace. He prides himself on being able to offer impartial advice to ensure his customers get the appropriate deal possible. He has also become a regular contributor on BBC Radio WM where his advice can be heard on several of their programmes talking about topical financial matters. He had been described as the West Midlands’ own money-saving expert. As a result, he has helped several BBC employees with their own finances.

He is also very passionate about ensuring that customers have the correct level of personal and family protection. With everyone living longer and being more susceptible to serious illness and employee benefits being reduced, it is imperative that they seek the most suitable advice and commit to some level of life and living insurance.

Matthew believes in treating customers as he would wish to be treated himself and has been heard to tell customers he's available 24/7……. although no one has phoned him after 10pm yet! Every customer gets his personal attention and he will go to extraordinary lengths to get them the most suitable deal possible. He will also tell customers what they 'need' to hear rather than what they 'want' to hear. If it is not achievable today he will help them put a plan in motion to make it possible in the future.

For the last 15 years Matthew has been the Regional Treasurer for the Wooden Spoon Society which has raised over £1 million over the years for disadvantaged children in the West Midlands. He has now passed that baton to others to follow in his footsteps, so he can focus more time on his new passion of building his own home. He is currently looking for a building plot to enable him to design and build a bespoke home that brings together all the ideas he and his wife have collated over many years. "In the perfect world it would cost nothing to run with the innovation of solar power and heat exchange heating and consumable power is only ever going to go up in price"

When Matthew has spare time, he lives for travel having been lucky enough to have been to New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Asia and North America and recently having returned from the Canadian Rockies and Alaska.

We will also provide you with information relevant to your mortgage needs, covering such items as an explanation of the main repayment methods and the implications of taking a mortgage.

We will provide an explanation of the main relevant repayment methods available (for example capital and interest or interest only).

During our initial meeting, we will be completing a detailed mortgage/financial review questionnaire to enable appropriate advice to be given on your mortgage and other related insurance products.
